Stakeholders improvements impact on business

Ben & Jerry’s have recently labelled some of their products as ‘all natural’ when they have not in fact been ‘all natural’. This means Ben & Jerry’s are not being ethical to their customers as they are not being truthful about the ingredients in their products. This gives customers the impression that Ben & Jerry’s ice creams and yoghurts are 100% natural and makes them feel that they are not eating any artificially manufactured ingredients in the products they are eating. Ben & Jerry’s could improve this by labelling their products in the correct manner; this would effectively make Ben & Jerry’s more ethical as they would no longer be lying to the customers and they would no longer be implementing an offence to the FDA.
The impact this would have to the business is that they could receive more customers as their reputation will have been improved, this would make people want to buy the products because they know that they are made completely of natural products and they will know which products to buy because the products that are not 100% natural will be labelled correctly.

Ben & Jerry’s could also be more ethical to their franchisees, this is because they were not truthful regarding the sales figures of their franchises and some of the information given to them were not entirely true. The franchisees were led to believe that the shops they had bought were going to make a lot more money than they actually did, this is because Ben & Jerry’s did not give the financial details of small shops such as the ones being bought, they were giving the financial details of shops from places such as casino’s and airports. Ben & Jerry’s could be more ethical by actually giving them realistic details of how much money they were going to make. This could be the difference between someone buying a franchise or choosing against buying one so it is important that the correct details are being told.
If Ben & Jerry’s gave their franchisees true information on the finances that the franchises would make, this would decrease the amount of people that the franchises meaning that Ben & Jerry’s will not be gaining as many franchisees and not making as much money from them.

Ben & Jerry’s could be more ethical to the local community by giving their left over ice cream to local schools, universities and companies instead of local pig farmers as this means that they will not be giving the left overs to the pigs which makes the meat more fatty and taste worse. This is also an environmentally friendly method as well because they are not just washing the left over ice cream and yoghurt down the drain and into the waste systems which would clog them up and leaving more waste in the systems.
This would mean that Ben & Jerry’s would look good in the eye of the public, this is because they are giving away their left over ice cream for no added price which is a give away, this would be good as the local community would benefit from this.

Ben & Jerry’s could also be more ethical to the environment by reducing the amount of organochlorine-laced sludge produced when making their cartons.;They could do this by making all of their cartons out of unbleached cardboard which would majorly decrease the amount of this sludge being produced which goes to waste, this is because it does not contain chemicals such as dioxin which is cancerous when it is touched by skin. This would be a lot more friendly to the environment as this cancerous chemical will be almost eliminated from the waste stream.
As well as this, they could completely eliminate the pollutants entering lakes and rivers rather than just preventing it slightly, this would be much more beneficial to the environment and the lakes and rivers would be a lot cleaner.
This would also make Ben & Jerry’s as they are not polluting the environment with tonnes and tonnes of this organochlorine-laced sludge which contains a cancerous chemical, thus would be good and this would make ben and Jerrys a lot more environmentally friendly
